Even though three years have passed by since rap star Tupac Shakur was gunned down after a Tyson fight in Las Vegas, Shakur is still deep in the heart of those who loved him (and that still love him). On September 7, 1996, Shakur and Suge Night (president of Death Row Records) were heading to a strip in Las Vegas right after Tyson?s fight. The streets were flooded with cars, however, and Shakur was stuck in traffic. Then, all of a sudden, shots rang out! Reportedly, 13 shots were fired at the BMW Tupac Shakur and Suge were riding. Shakur was hit four times in the chest, Suge escaped with minor injuries. The rapper was taken to a hospital, where after a week of struggling for his life, was pronounced dead on September 13 at 4:03 p.m. His death was a great loss to the hip-hop community, not to mention his family. Tupac fans could not believe their favorite rapper had just died. They were angered at whoever committed this atrocious crime against one of the greatest rap star ever. Others (myself included), however, were even more indignated at the way the media portrayed 2pac when talking about his life and death.

Major magazines such as Time, Vibe, The Source, and so on, talked about the sorrowful event. And they all said the same thing: a gansta? rapper's prophecy finally came true after being gunned down at Las Vegas. They referred to 2pac songs where he talks about guns, sex, violence and even his own death. They repeatedly quoted 2pac?s phrase contained in one of his songs ?we live by the gun, so we die by the gun.? They mentioned all the bad things Shakur had done and all the troubles he had had with the law. What they failed to do, however, was to talk about his ?good side.? And that is what angered 2pac fans; that the media never talk about 2pac?s good side .... And that's the reason why I made this site; to pay Shakur the respects he truly deserves. I have included in this page some of Tupac's poetry, and his song lyrics, as a way to show that he was not the evil person so much portrayed by the media. Follow the links below to see what I have under each section. (Below is the complete Tupac Biography.)
